Tires Maxxis or GISLAVED
I had studded gislaved nord frost tires on a FWD Chevy Spectrum back in the day and was unstoppable.
Assegai MaxxGrip is a lot, but awesome on loose over hard and great on everything else except mud.
Nothing wrong with DHF front and rear, a little faster than DHR II and still plenty of braking grip.
I have an R58 coupe and use Gislaved winter tires (made in Sweden). My mechanic recommended them, and it's a great choice.
Personally, I will never not recommend Maxxis Re-Fuse. Crappy city streets strewn with broken everything, one puncture in a dozen years. I’m on my third pair only because treads wear out. Not the greatest rolling resistance, apparently, but not really a concern for me
Had them on our Pilot a few years back. Loved them. I would purchase again.
I had a very good experience with the Gislaved Nordfrost 100s. They were fairly priced, they have a crazy amount of tread for a tire, and their performance was very good.
Gislaved Nord Frost 200 factory studded tires.
Gislaved is a Continental brand: they are OK-ish tires at best.
I fitted a Maxxis 2.50 WT DHF to my i25 rims. It squirmed and rolled like nobody’s business and cornering was downright scary. I doubt things will be much better on an i28 rim.
