Tires Maxxis or TIGAR
Best all-round trail / enduro tires imho: Maxxis Minion DHF (front) and Minion DHR II (rear). I run 2.5 and 2.4, respectively. Get the WT (wide trail) variant if your rim inner width is 20+mm. Dual compound good for durability. The DHF has great breaking and turning control and last me 100+ hrs. The rear is great for techie climbs.
I've ran a lot of tire brands and always have the best performance from Maxxis.
Once I got some Maxxis suited to my riding style/terrain it felt like a whole new bike!
Maxxis creepy crawler in 20x2.00 it has a low ass pressure ceilin but it has grip for days
Maxxis Grifters. I’m 18 months in on them as a 1-2 time a week rider. No visible wear or pinch flats despite running low psi. They last forever and are grippy af.
I ran a maxxcross on both front and rear - rear first, before I upgraded to a 16" + shinko 525. Its not a bad tire at all, and if you're looking to keep the weight down on the stock rim then I say its a good choice.
I run a Maxxis Aggressor on the back of my bike and I love it. A DHF up front has loads of grip but the Aggressor has similar side lugs (a little smaller but not much) so the vine still turns well. At the same time, it has smaller center lugs and having swapped a DHR for it, I can certainly tell it rolls better.
My 2.3s were 55mm on some wide 1980s rims. I'll remount them on different rims soon and can measure then
I've been riding my **Maxxis Rekon 2.4" 3C EXO** for about **700km / 435mi** now and even though I was not over the top impressed, the mix between low rolling resistance and decent grip in dry conditions was satisfying and totally met my demands - even on some rough, deep red (S2-S3) trails.
**On my last ride**, my impressions changed dramatically. The ground conditions might have been slightly looser than most of my rides but certainly nothing I havent already seen before or ridden on over the last couple of months.
After only a few kilometers, I felt **zero confidence in the tires to grip, they dealt scarily bad with loose (dry) trails** and I even crashed once
I've tried the Ardent in a 2.3 width as a rear tire, and wasn't a fan. It was prone to breaking loose easily in corners with little warning.
