Tires MICHELIN or Continental
Personally I would recommend the Continental EXTREME CONTACT DWS 06. They are as good if not better than Michelin Pilot Super Sport.
Continental Terrain Contact AT. Best tire I ever owned. Even better than General Grabbers
Since michelin cross climate is a bit too expensive for my shit box of a daily i used to run these https://www.sava-tires.com/sava/emea/tires/passenger/all-weather/ didn't have any problems.
The other snow tire I used in my 14 years of driving is a Continental Winter Contact SI which was excellent on highway winter driving but not as good for snowy road driving.
I got a set of Continental Viking Contact 7 tires for my Impreza last winter when the shop didn't have Blizzaks in my size and I couldn't be happier with them.
I’m running continental extreme contact DWS06 ran me about $150 per tire.
Defenders are top of the line. Yokohama is good but usually slightly stiffer/harder tread compounds. Michelins are designed to be safe from the second you put them on till about 2/32 of tread or 4-5 years when the rubber dries out. If you drive a lot and value quality and safety Michelin is king.
What a difference with the Contes….sooo much quieter. Could be the excitement, but I feel like it’s a bit flatter in the turns.
2013 limited eco AWD on Conti DWS06. I came from an Audi A4 Quattro on Blizzaks in the winter. The Flex ain’t the Audi but it’s pretty good.
I have had the DWS 06 on my R for almost a year. Drove through Reno’s ridiculous amount of snow last year. They’re a good tire in fluffy snow and got me around no problem. When it gets more hard packed they struggle, but they’re an all season tire and I didn’t expect much there.
