Tires MICHELIN or DEXTER
I swear by Pilot Sport 4’s. They’ve never once let me down. They won an award for best tyres for hot hatches also.
Michelin PS4. The ride quality and grip is completely different between that and the PZEROS.
When SHTF I use Michelin Snow Grips. I have used these 3 times for about 30 mins each in about 4 years. our Michelin X-Ice tires worked great.
I just bought the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires for my ‘21 ID.4 and I really like them. They ride quiet and smooth. The car handles better and I couldn’t be happier.
Canada here; I run Michelin Pilot Alpin winters on my Clubman JCW, but only the one set of rims because steel wheels won’t fit over my larger brakes and I’m too cheap to buy another set of “proper” rims.
Here in northeast WI we upgraded from the OEM Yokohama Avid GTs (on the Prime XSE) to the all-weather Cross Climate 2s by Michelin, best upgrade yet. Smoother and quieter ride, plus much better grip in snow and ice. Purchased these tires after much research, highly recommend.
Got Michelin Crossclimate2 tires around 19k miles. The ride is smoother and feels like I’m locked into the road. Speed bumps, pot holes, and such feel way smoother to ride over.
I replaced the stock Yokohama Geolanders with Michelin Defender T+H after 3k miles. The change was quite drastic in noise-reduction and the Defenders performed a lot better too. It absorbed bumps a lot better and handles really well in both wet and snow
Have experience with Kumho vs Michelin pilots 4s.
Similar price (ish). Kumho are rubbish. Completely changed the handling of the car for the better when I went on the pilots.
You wont get mileage though.
On a subject unrelated to load ratings, the Michelin HX MXM4 are, well, to be brutally honest - they are total rubbish. Expect to have borderline dangerous hydroplaning performance when the tires get to 6/32nds and less. Wet traction will be very poor when the tires get below 4/32nds or so.
