DUNLOP Tires

Everyone I know that has used these tires has absolutely loved them, and I see tons of positive reviews for them online, but despite all that I just can't get over how they look.

Pros: tons of positive reviews
Cons: do not like the look

MICHELIN Tires

I swap wheels/tires twice a year running summers on the stock wheels and winter Michelin snow/ice on 17 basic black wheels. Car handles snow in New England like a dream.

Pros: handles snow like a dream
Vehicle: Subaru

DUNLOP Tires

Here's the reality, it really really works on the road 6 tires and on the Dunlop Elite 4s. I had all the road versions on my ST1300 and these are the best in the wet so far. The Elite 4s on my wing were phenomenal even on sketchy mountain roads with it pissing rain on us.

Pros: best in the wet

DUNLOP Tires

But I remember back in the day (PS4s are ancient now) when I swapped from Dunlop SportMaxx RT2s to PS4s and two things stood out - how much mechanical grip they have, and how long they take to warm up.

On cold mornings, they genuinely felt like track slicks. The Dunlops would be "warmed up" and gripping fine by the time I reached the main road - maybe half a mile.

The PS4s, on the other hand, would still feel twitchy and unpredictable halfway to work (~18 miles). It took a good 8-9 miles before they came in. And before they warm up, they are very on/off - loads of mechanical grip, but almost no compound grip, so they can suddenly let go.

Pros: loads of mechanical grip
Cons: take long to warm

MICHELIN Tires
apadsac
Rating 4.5
  • Grip:
  • Noise:
  • Ride comfort:

the Ariya the best upgrade over the mediocre factory tires is the Michelin CrossClimate 2 (EV-friendly sizes) they handle the weight and torque way better, ride quieter, and you’ll notice way less range drop compared to cheaper options.

Pros: handle weight and torque
Cons: not the cheapest
Vehicle: Nissan

MICHELIN Tires

I currently have michelin pilot sport all season 4s on and they are at 6/32nds. And they are not very good in the rain. Is that because they are worn or is that what i should expect from them? I'm worried with winter coming now that they will really struggle in any snow. I've always run all season tires on my cars and I've been fine but I'm now worried after driving these in the rain today. Is there different all seasons I should look at getting or just new michelins?

Pros: good in snow (expected)
Cons: not good in rain, worn tread

MICHELIN Tires

This looks like to be a Michelin PS 3 or 4. If my guess is correct, these are sport tire which means soft rubber compound, and because of that they degrade (harden) fast. From experience, with normal use, they are good for 2-3 years of driving, then they get horribly bad (hard). Above 4 years they become hard like hockey pucks - the rubber looks shiny with lots of micro cracking and they are (from experience) deadly in the rain. So, judging from the picture one (i see micro cracking) and the fact they are 5 years old: They are gone. Tread depth is irrelevant now. They are so hard that you cant wear them down not even in 100.000km. Btw. about 6-7mm is the tread depth when these (Michelin PS) tires are new.

Pros: good for 2-3 years
Cons: degrade fast, harden quickly, deadly in rain, micro cracking
