Tires MICHELIN or Firestone
I like firestone firehawk indy 500. summer tire. sticky. reminds me of the old yokohama S.Drive. Plenty of grip wet or dry, and in dry it's the only one that's let me put down full power coming out of a corner without going all spastic or lighting the traction control lamp.
When I got my car last December, I ran the factory Yokohamas for the winter since they were brand new and it was already almost January. This year I bought a set of Michelin X-ICEs on steel rims. It's the first time I've ever been able to afford winter tires, and I definitely feel a difference compared to all-seasons.
The great white north here. Excellent traction in snow, and pretty good on ice. The benefits in wet and dry traction over normal winters for the times when it's not extreme conditions outweighs having dedicated winter tires. At least where I'm at.
Also there are better summer tires out there, I recommend the Michelin pilot sport 4s or the new Continental that recently came out, they have amazing performance and last a long time.
Put Firestone Destination AT2s on mine. Great tire and good meaty look. The positive is that fuel economy only went down by 2 to 24.7 from 26.7.
I have had the Winterforce ones for a couple years now. They seem to be good tires.
I would also recommend looking at the Nokian one and Michelin defender2.
The michelin defender 2 is rated for 70 or 80k miles, and is generally very quiet.
I got 19's with cc2's on MYP I get MAYBE a hair better efficiency over the the 21 ubwrturbines. They also have a decent amount of annoying whirring/road noise :/ but winter performance should be great.
I had high hopes for these tires and I saw no benefit over the Michelin primacy. Also after the first 1000 miles the traction sucks in dry conditions for spirited driving and especially horrible in wet weather.
