Tires MICHELIN or Pirelli
I went w Pirelli All Season UHP in standard size and they are exceptionally good in dry, wet, “wintery mix” and snow. This is my sixth German AWD car, from Audi, BMW and Merc and by far the best in dry and snow conditions.
I run Goodyear F1 Eagles in the summer, and in late October swap over to 3PMSF all-season Michelin cross-climates. The all-seasons have a much better wear tolerance for the occasions where we have 15C in the middle of winter. My Audi only has about 320 BHP, but in the snow / ice, I do not want to be using summer tyres. Equally in the summer, I want to be able to push it on rural roads in Devon without trashing all-seasons.
The cross climates don’t have best grip for handling but are ok … but they are just safer in colder weather especially with kids in the car.
These tire/wheels were purchased from Tire Rack in the early spring of 2025. Pirelli Cinturato Weatheractive with approx 4,000 miles Size: 245/45/18, XL rating, no repairs Borbet Type W Machined face with gloss black accent Size: 18x8, 5x112, +40, 23.5 lb each, with Tirerack TPMS sensors Black lug bolts, bolt covers and VW OEM emblems installed. Been on 32mm pro 5’s since August and I’ve been very impressed for using them for general riding. In terms of endurance tires they feel incredibly fast and grippy. No punctures even though they are on the lighter end of endurance tire offerings.
My old '94 Blazer, shod in her Pirelli Scorpions, wrap around rock bars, Vortec V-6. Unstoppable.
I use the p3's, good tire it just has a lot of road noise and not amazing in the rain
I had a 2018 v60 polestar and even with the pilot sport tires it was passable for winter driving.
I got Pilot AS4s for mine, thinking I'd be good for... *ALL* seasons. The Pilots were solid for that winter. Come next winter and I'm thinking I'm good to go. Nope. Mine was legit dangerous.
When it comes to tires, I have had Pirelli. They don’t last what they say that they are supposed to, even with regular rotation.
