Tires MICHELIN or Vredestein
Just picked up practically new Michelin CrossClimate2 for our 328i Gran Turismo, probably the last set of tires I'll buy for that car, which has been great.
Put a set of Vredestein Hitracs on my mom's CX5 and she loves them. Quiet and excellent in the rain.
The Vredestein Quatrac Pros on the HRV were the best all around tire I've had and I'm pissed they discontinued them in the size I need. Very quiet, 90% of real snow tire performance.
I chose the Vredestein Quatrac Pro's for my wife's ML350 4Matic. Quiet, handle well (for a beast that heavy) and good in the wet.
I'll say that I used to insist on Continentals on my VWs, but when they weren't available for my former Touareg, the Michelin Cross Climate 2 was highly recommended and I felt I was settling, but took them as they were what was available. Then I found that there was magic about those tires! In all my life I had never driven a vehicle that performed as my Touareg did with those Cross Climates. I even had a long time VW friend drive it and he said that it felt as if the Touareg was floating down the highway. The tires were perfectly quiet
We have Michelin XIce 3’s on our QX50. No issues climbing Mariner St, Johnson St or David
I have CrossClimate2 on 3 of my cars. I can’t believe how good this tire is.
I've used cross climate 2 tires on my bolt for the last 35k miles. You take a range hit. But the traction and no more squealing tires. The traction gain is insane.
I recently changed tires (Michelin Pilot AS4) and within a week I got a nail in one which developed a slow leak 2-3 psi per day. In this case topping it off did make the TPMS light go away by itself without needing to press the TPMS button.
I have a 1970 VW/Porsche 914, uses the same tire. I've had Michelins for years. About 3 years ago, I bought a set of Vredestein's - 165/15 - and they did not handle well at all.
