Tires MICHELIN or WEST LAKE
Anyone put crossclimates on theirs? I can't stand the way they look, but they're great tires by all accounts. And michelin gives you free roadside assistance when you buy a set, so I don't have to buy CAA (AAA down south).
I bought enkei 17s and Michelin x ice for winter. It was a lot easier to get tires and also doubles as a good rim for cheap track tires also if you want as 215 17s are pretty common
as a owner of the CrossClimate2s in NEvl Wisconsin, the supreme snow traction they provide in the winter is top notch, even on par with the best winter tires (winter tires do provide better ice traction). While we do see an efficiency impact of about 5%, it's totally worth the benefits they provide in the winter.
They're very good tyres. Bit noisy on the corners, but very good.
Installed these on my EV6. They’re pretty great in the snow (also in CO). Expect a 10-15% hit to your range
Just installed a new set of Michelin CrossClimate2 all weather tires to tackle the upcoming Colorado winter. Ride seems a bit more firm, in a generally good way. Seems just as quiet on most surfaces, and from prior experience with these on my other cars, I know the trend to get a bit quiter after an initial break in period.
I switched out to Cross Climate 2s , from Connecticut up to Portland was probably some of the worst snow I've ever had to drive in. They felt Incredible. I drive on the highway every day here and in thunderstorms it's nothing but confidence.
I got around 20k from my next set of Michelin pilot road 4's and have not run another tire since. Yes they're expensive, but their dollar per mile ratio is incredible and they have fantastic wet weather performance
Previously I had Michelin Defender xlt. While I would prefer a more pavement oriented tire the Coopers where the only load range E tires I could get on a 3 day turnaround when I needed them.
I liked the Michelins but the xl load rating was just too squirmy while towing a 7000lb trailer.
I had a noise that was resolved with a tie rod. I had to go to their approved shops! First shop tried to charge 5,000$ for all things I didn’t need, they denied everything but a motor mount. Next shop inflated all prices and labor. Estimate was 2500$ Endurance covered 630$ of a 930$ bill. I had to pay 287$ to get car out of there! Off to Pep Boys for tires they denied that claim as well. They told me basically I don’t take care of my car my tires were bald. I had 4 new Michelin tires in my car. Obviously something was making the front ones “a road hazard”.
