Tires MICHELIN or WEST LAKE
I have some Westlake SA07 for 10k miles now and they're holding up pretty good. Really good tires for the price.
I used to use the X Ices on my GTI and they were great even on that little 2wd. Great tires.
I just paid $988 USD for Michelin X-Ice, mount and balance. They're great snow tires. I had them on my '15 Legacy last winter in Northeastern US, so lots of snow, mix, ice, etc.
2 years ago I got Michelin X-ice 3’s (in a 17”) on my car, steelies from Costco, installed, and TPMS sensors for right about 1100 bucks (in the GTA).
I spent a good deal of time researching and went with the Michelin Defender LTX m/s tires to replace them. Expensive but fairly meaty, good ride quality and cornering, great in the rain, can't speak for snow. Expesive but worth it so far.
The Michelin s have tough carcases compared to other Chinese shity tires. Anyway, I would definitly recommend you install a known brand. I started with cheap tires but switched fast to Michelin s.
Micheline's are worth the expense, had cheap ones and I was like Bambi on ice, they could save your life, don't scrimp
America's Tire gave me 40% off a new set, so I opted for the CrossClimate+, which cost me $524 out the door.
Drove about 10 miles on them after pickup and it’s night/day difference from the MXM4s that it came with. They seemed quieter although I didn’t get on the highway. Handling is like a different car. Not that it wasn’t good before, but it’s easy to see why everyone raves about these tires.
Michelin Xi3 on my Mustang. I got stuck once in my alleyway because of a really bad ice storm, but otherwise no problems. They are a bit floaty (as winter tires tend to be), but otherwise good dry performance too.
