Tires NANKANG or GISLAVED
I have Hakka R5 on my GTI and Gislaved on my Golf SW. Both have been excellent for me and my needs.

I just had a hard time finding 205/50/15 for my 1997 gti vr6. I ended up buying Nankang NS2 tires.

I run nankang ns-2r atm, they’re decent track tyres and for my region at least very affordable, but they also seem to last ages for a 180tw tyre which is a big plus for a road car that I can drive to the track.
Pros: decent track tyres, very affordable
Cons: not the razor edge

I've used the brand Nankang for a while they are cheap and i find them really good for a budget tyre

If you don't care about money and want the fastest tire get the nankang crs v2s.

I am running Gislaved Nordfrost tires with the factory studs in Canada.

My buddy has them on the rears of his FBO 335i right now. They're not terrible for basic to spirited street driving. They can't handle any power at all though.
Pros: not terrible for driving

I've had NS-II on my car for the past 4 years. For daily driving these tires will do just fine. Wet grip is alright and they're not terribly loud. They don't compare to Michelin Pilot Sport tires I ran before but they also don't cost anything close to Michelins.

I had a set on a 2008 F-250 work truck. Wore down quickly ~15K miles and unevenly. Felt like hard plastic chunks when cold, noisy, no off road traction. Had one blow out at about 60 mph and later on I had another tire get a tumbleweed puncture in the sidewall. They were trash. Swapped them out for a proper set of tires.
Cons: wore quickly, uneven wear, hard when cold, noisy, no off-road traction, blowouts, punctures

F'ing terrible compared to a reputable summer tire IMO.
