Tires Nexen or DUNLOP
Nexen makes some really good tires... I have used the N5000 Platinum and Plus, and the Roadian HTX and they have been excellent...
Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack or Serenity, Yokohama Avid Touring-S or GT, Continental TrueContact Tour or PureContact LS, ... But looking at your current tire and the one you're looking at, it looks like you are more budget minded... consider the Nexen N5000 Platinum. I've had those and their predecessor (N5000 Plus) on a few vehicles and were more than impressed with the tire in general for what you pay for it, and noise was always very low.
I said fuck it, bought the second cheapest Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 ($200 for both) and man do i not feel anything different on the streets! Ive hit triple digits and they have all felt safe!
My car came with dunlop enasave ec300 tires which have maxium pressure of 2,75 bar and proper tire pressure for Leaf would be 2,6-3,0.
Im just now looking at replacing my OEM Dunlops at 17k. These are on a 2019 HD Road Glide.
I was Super curious about these tires because they look good and second was was the fact that the hybrid community was giving high praise to these tires. 1. They look great ???? 2. The efficiency is indeed high. I went from 3.7mi/kwh to a solid 4mi/kwh. I really like these tires now. The reviews were no joke. These tires have better "range" than the Michelin Energy Saver that they replaced. Some people look down on these "off-brand" tires as they want something more expensive and a name brand. These tires are just fine.
I bought them last year and they are alright. I am not a very enthusiastic driver though. They are less sticky than my cooper all season tires on dry roads but brake much better on snow than my all seasons.
Agree- Ram put the Roadian HP tires on a brand new 4 x 4- flat after flat after flat x 4- cut my losses and bought Goodyear- Dealer will not honor and manufacture of tires would not honor- NHSTA needs to step in.
Mine didn’t even last a full summer
Not comparable to the oem continentals, I preferred my beefier all seasons to the nexens.
I absolutely hated the stock gpr-300s on my ninja. In the dry they worked fine (only lowsided twice in a parking lot from trying to make the smallest possible circles), but I slid out constantly in the wet (thankfully never crashed) at normal lean angles and not very much throttle. I replaced them after about 4k miles.
