Tires Nexen or Kumho
Nexen WinGuards are some good, budget dedicated winter tires... they perform better than they should for the price...
I have other winter tires but THESEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - Day and night difference for specially Win-guards sports 2. Last winter, i was beating everyone on the highway with good amount of snow falling. Even and were slowing down in Boston highway 1-93 as I was on my way to Montreal
I second the kumhos v730. For the price they are pretty hard to beat. They don’t heat up as fast as ao52’s but the grip level is similar and they last longer
I have NC Miata and run Kumho V730s as a track and autocross tire. Might be like 0.5 sec off the fastest tire over a 60 sec course and holds up well on track.
I bought Kumho a/s for the first time this summer and I am very happy with them so far.
I have a set of Kumho A/T tires on my beater 4runner and tbh they’re not snow tires and they’ve still been fantastic in the snow. Don’t have the best ride quality, but I’ve thoroughly liked them for the last 35k miles.
From our personal experience and also clients’ feedback we have had much better performance with the Sport R compared to the RT660. Autocross conditions will have the Sport R need a little more warmup, however it does not fall off as much as the RT660 (especially after heat cycles) and yes longevity is much longer on the Sport R. The RT660 also has a tread splicing issue that we really don’t like to see in a performance tire.
I bought them last year and they are alright. I am not a very enthusiastic driver though. They are less sticky than my cooper all season tires on dry roads but brake much better on snow than my all seasons.
I have had Kuhmo Solus all weathers and they were very loud. I know that’s a different model that you posted but I went with Yokohama Avid GT for a similar price and they’re great and quieter
I had to replace all 4 Kuhomos at about 12k as I blew two out. Now sitting at 24k and they’re almost halfway worn on one set.
