Tires Nokia or Vredestein
I chose the WRG5 for my mom due to superior winter performance vs the CC2 and everything I have heard is that the CC2 is one of the louder tires-
I ended up getting a set of 19" CX70 wheels from a lower trim level for my Turbo S, and bought a set of Vredestein Pinza H/T tires for those rims. Plus, these 19" tires ride so much better than the 21's!!
For a Helsinki \u2192 Ruka trip in January, go straight for top-tier Nordic studless winters Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 or Michelin X-Ice Snow. Both are built exactly for the kind of icy, packed-snow highways you\u2019ll hit up north, and they handle EV weight really well. The R5 has slightly better ice grip, the X-Ice is a bit quieter and longer lasting.
I have tried falken wildpeak and Cooper discoverer all terrain tires which are both winter rated and neither were remotely as good as mt Hakepalita 10 studded tires.
I have the Nokian Encompass AW02 a very similar style tire but cheaper. Been happy with them so far. Was recommended at discount tire for my Subaru Forester. If you want another option...
Do some research if you haven't heard of Vredestein tires. These things are incredible in the snow and routinely get excellent reviews.
FWD 98 ford taurus wagon on nokian Hakkapellitta R5's, I havent broke traction once this winter yet
I did the same after a set of Vredsteins (which were still good tires). Much quieter.
I posted something similar today, is this a tyre brand specific issue or a coincidence Context I'm using same verdestein centuro.
That is the tread of my Nokain Hakkapellita tire, sitting on the side of the highway after blowing off the tire at highway speeds.
This is my winter car, a Subaru Impreza. Nokian Hakkapellita winter tires stay on the car year round, as it only gets driven in the winter months. The tires are 3 years old.
I decided to start the car up and take it for a drive one night in late September, thinking nothing of the tires. I made it about 15 minutes into my drive before BANG, my front drivers side tire tread completely disconnected from the tire, and the sidewall blew apart.
I was driving about 110km/h when this happened and the car almost rolled before I got it back under control.
When I went back up to retrieve the car the next day, the amount of dry rot on the tires was mind blowing. These 3 year old tires had completely dry rotted out over the course of the summer without me thinking to even have a look.
