Tires OEM Mazda or NITTO
I am running the Terra Grappler G3’s and so far love them.
I recently put HPAS 205/50/15 Nitto Neo Gen on my NB since i’m on a budget. So far they’ve been much better than expected. They grip significantly noticeably more than what the previous owner had (ironman tires.) they grip to the point i struggle to throw the rear out without kicking it. Last tires I could cut the wheels and just hit it and the rear would slip out but with these even flicking it doesn’t want to break out. They’ve been performing great in corners as well, I’ve been able to take some 10-20mph faster without worry.
I commuted 100 miles a day in my CX5 in snowy Maine. I had a 6speed manual transmission and snow tires and never had a problem.
Went in for touch up woolwax undercoating yesterday and put on some new Nitto Terra Grappler 3s to replace the factory tires last week.
Personally go with nitto ridge grapplers .. they are fantastic on the highway not loud.. very comfortable… also though they are amazing in sand and off road dirt/mud. I bough the ridge grapplers that you can easily get 50-60k miles with normal rotation..
I go camping often, so she’s good in the mud. I use Nitto Grappler tires and they’re fantastic.
Not sure what size you are planning or what platform, but I'll give you Nitto feedback FWIW.
17' cummins 35-12.50-18's .It will pick up rocks and throw them a lot. Maybe have 20-25k and are less than half tread.
I have nitto ridge grapplers and they do pretty well. I don't get a lot of snow where I live but they do decent in mud
Just bought my 1500 a few months ago and it has ridge grapplers on it. I noticed during the test drive that the wet traction was not great, and have confirmed since. Wet traction on take offs, or even hard acceleration while trying to pass or something on the highway can be problematic.
Those nittos can’t hook for a damn if you’re supercharged. Any time i got on the throttle they were going sideways.
