Tires Pirelli or BRIDGESTONE
I have Pirellis, but I have the Scorpion All Season Verde. They are the best tires I’ve used so far out of the stock and some Continentals.
While others swear by Michelin and Continental, I've got Pirellis on my 2019 Sport GT. My rationale is that if Pirelli is good enough for F1, it's good enough for me. I also bought my winter rims and tires when I bought my vehicle, and Pirelli is what the dealer suggested.
I had Vredestein Ultrac Vorti+ which lasted around 23000 miles. Now I am running Pirelli Scorpion Verde as they were on promotion and I saved over £100 on all four. Pretty quiet tyre and decent road grip, both in dry and wet conditions.
I run Pirelli P1s in the summer and absolutely love them. I noticed my ride quality was so much better after replacing the run flats.
At the current time you'd probably be better off with Pirelli Cinturato Velo than these tires. Better puncture protection and lighter.
I was always a Michelin buyer because they were consistently quiet and long lasting offering excellent all around performance. 20,000 mikes ago I replaced the OEM tires on my Mk7 Jetta R-Line with the Turanza Quiettrack and am pleased without any regrets.
Costco put on a set this (2021) spring but it is too soon to know much. They ride quiet and straight (we also did an alignment). Note: to keep the Costco warranty, you must go back within a week or so to have them re-torque the nuts.
FWIW I am also in Oregon and have found the the Indy 500s inferior to the OEM Bridgestones in the dry, but better in most other respects.
Definitely a great wet tire - though my wheel hop is back despite the RMM. On a very wet onramp (99E SB to 224... aww yeah) I was able to hold a 4 wheel drift, pretty cool for a FWD car. But the turn-in still feels a little too..... normal.
My BridgestonePotenza S001 has 12k miles with 6/32 of tread depth. Likely, they grip marginally better than new but I don't have high expectations from this tire anymore. Nevertheless, I did expect a transformation from wider summer tire, coming from horrendous BridgestoneECOPIA EP422 PLUS .
Here's the 18" Cadiz wheels that came off 2015 Golf R. Stock 16" Astana wheels are beyond hideous, they are also heavy (e.g. 21 lbs.). As soon as you mount any sticky tires, irrelevant of size, your range will decrease by ~10%. The sole purpose of low resistance Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires is to float due to super firm carcass. These tires are terrible in dry and scary in wet.
