Tires Pirelli or Nokia
I run the 220tw PZero on my MK7.5 GTI. Nevertheless, a great tire. Plenty of grip, not bad in the rain and can take the abuse of the occasional track day- I’m really surprised as to how they can handle the heat cycle and wear evenly at the track. On the street- they offer more performance than you can throw at them. Daily driving, they don’t wear as quickly as you’d expect a tire in the low 200tw range to wear.
Reliable. 30k miles. No issues at all except for the Pirellis that were worn way faster than expected.
I LOVE my Nokian WRG 4 tires. They are great in the winter (they have the snowflake symbol)and the best part is you can use them in the summer too.
I will say that I've had a really good experience with the pirelli pzeros that I have on mine, they're super grippy.
I've had the Pirelli's on my Touareg for about two years now, lots of highway and towing miles. I've put around 12k miles on the Scorpion Verde's and love them. Very responsive and no road noise. Haven't had any issues in wet conditions
S/O's Tiguan has those Pirellis and I can't say anything bad about them. Quiet and comfortable and handle all situations well.
I wouldn't settle for anything less than studded Nokians if you can afford it. They'll be hard to get this late in the year, but you likely already know that. I live in western NY though, so YMMV.
I recently replaced model 3 tires to pirrelli, they are quiter and the ride is smooth.
I got 40,000 miles on the stock Falkens including snow and ice with conservative driving. Replaced with Pirelli Cinturado Strada "all season*"225/50/r17 from Discount tire for slightly larger tirewheel and wider tire (1/4" more clearance, a liffle more float in sand) but mostly the 70,000 mile warranty. I calculate (by gps and road markers) this gives me about 103% on miles (ie speedo reads a bit low) and I can feel the lower torque vs before. Def a harder compound than the Falkens, so I dont drive as aggressively in corners.
I have those on my Mustang right now and they have no where near the performance of the outgoing P Zeros.
