Tires Pirelli or OEM Volkswagen
2020 gtr I threw on Pirelli P zero A/s+ a week after buying the car, they’ve been working great. No complaints and driving spiritedly is a lot more controlled
Having read all that above, I must say I’ve replaced multiple sets of tires and ride my 959 pretty aggressively on the street through the north central PA mountains and have never had a grip issue. I use Diablo Rosso 3s and get about 1500 miles from a set
I’ve had no complaints with the stock 18’ Pirelli P-zeros that came on the SE, especially how well they handle snow.
I did get new wheels and tires and couldn’t be happier. The 205/55s are a better choice for general use, being much quieter overall and considerably less harsh on city streets, while keeping very solid highway performance.
PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS II.
I do a decent amount of gravel or clay road driving with some but less sand too. Decided to go Pirelli Scorpion A/T plus and there's been no issues at stock hieght.
I am on my third different set of 19" M+S tires on my 2017 Golf R - and I am also a Tahoe area skier - first I had the Continental ExtremeContact DWS - they were good. Then I tried the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus Revised Compound X -- they were better -- actually one time I went over Mt Rose in a white-out blizzard, on top of at least 2" of ice, and the Pirellis gave me great traction and handling.
I've put 2500 miles on the Pirellis and the positives are handling, comfort, low noise. The negative is they refuse to stay balanced.
I hope Pirelli gets punished. It's not about the race really, they fucking crashed going 300km/h, so fucking dangerous.
Had the Pirelli P Zero on my 2014 GTI when I originally bought it, and they were probably one of the worst tires I've had the displeasure of experiencing (esp. in the winter).
