Tires Toyo or Goodyear
They have a bit longer braking distance than the best summer tyres but significantly better than cheaper summer tyres.
Toyo tires are not flimsy. Many amateur race track drivers run them on their modified/performance cars. It's a premium performance brand, actually. I ran over a dozen sets to Toyo tires on my BMW and Audi cars for many years when I was doing track days.
i had these tires for close to 85K and still going. I purchased them for $70 a piece and total cost like $360. Pleased with the performance.
I wouldnt trust 11 year old tires with my life. I‘ve had 6 year old goodyears and compared to a new set it was like night and day.
I went from a Toyo Celsius in the stock 225/60/R17 to these bad boys in 225/65/R17. Gained an inch of tire and they really fill the wheel wells now. No rubbing and a very smooth and quiet ride
tyre says GY there so i assume thats GOODYEAR brand. 185 GY tyre sells about 200-220 ish new on the market so maybe 50 profit.
I just put them on in January and so far I like them a lot. We got less snow than normal, but they were very good in what snow we got. At first they were noisy on my Tacoma Pickup, I have E rated tires, but after a couple thousand miles they got quiet.
They are decent. I’ve ran the AS 4, Proxes and also the Extreme Contact DWS before. I would call the AS 4 and Extreme Contacts a tier 1 All Season tire, and the Proxes tier 2. The Proxes aren’t bad by any means but the dry grip isn’t on the same level as the other two especially at colder temperatures.
I blew two Goodyear Territory RTs on a trail and wouldn’t recommend them. The stock tires are passenger car rated.
In my experience the wet traction on the Goodyear tires was terrible. Switched to some Falken Wildpeak H/T and see a lot better wet and dry traction.
