Yes to the GY WR2 tires. Have them on an Outback with 50k miles so far. They’re great in the pouring rain and good in the snow. Still have lots of tread left too!

Pros: great in rain, good snow
Cons: less mileage
Mileage: 50000 km

MICHELIN Tires

CC2 is a great choice! Have had them on a few different Subaru’s. If you’re in Idaho as your name would allude, you’ll love them! Rolling resistance is good. For context, my new 2026 Limited XT Outback is averaging just over 25.5 mpg with them on. Car is still going through break in too. Also have worn them through the summers on my old Outback and have gone to numerous trailheads and such.

Pros: great choice, good resistance
Cons: worn through summers

Falken Tires

3 years ago I went to scout a trout lake... my absolutely stock OBW (save for tires, have Falken Wildpeak AT-Trails) handles it like an absolute champ. I thought for sure that I'd break something, but the car came out identical to how it came in, save for being much dirtier.

Pros: handles it like champ

Nokia Tires

Moved here from Ontario last month and bought my first pair of proper winter tires, studded Nokian Hakkas. Legit night and day difference from the all seasons I had before on my AWD Outback

Pros: night and day difference

I ran the Toyo ATIIIs on my Tacoma and they worked almost as well as my Blizzaks I have on my Outback. But doing it again is get Wildpeaks, which a ton of my friends have, far quieter ride.

Pros: quieter ride

I'm on my second set. I drive a 2011 Outback and live i. The Chicagoland area. I've noticed that wet and dry driving is great. No noise. But in the snow, while turning, the car likes to plow. I'm not a fan of them in the wintertime.

Pros: wet and dry driving great
Cons: car likes to plow

Kumho Tires

Tires (Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum) were installed 6/25/2024 @ 151,xxx miles (with receipts). Manufactured date is May 2023. Currently, car has 165,xxx miles. As you can see, the two front (now rotated to rear) tires are bald! The other two tires have a normal amount of tread remaining however. I was running about 1° of camber front and rear, and explains why the inside is more worn, but doesn't explain the overall accelerated wear that occurred only on the fronts. I also have an alignment report showing only the front left Toe is out of spec (-0.39° measured vs. +/-0.08 spec).

In my opinion, this would fall under the warranty via excessive/premature tire wear, but of course I imagine any shop would fuss about the lack of rotation. To make matters worse, I purchased and installed these tires at Walmart, which I'm now learning isn't an authorized Kumho installer and Kumho's warranty form says they must be installed by an authorized installer. However, Walmart's own listing for the tires says it's covered by a 50k mile tread life warranty (see last photo).

Cons: premature wear, bald tires
Mileage: 14000 km
