Tires Toyo or Nokia
I have a 2014 with 19” rims but I love the AT3s (255/60/19). They look great. They fill out the wheel arches just right and look like the right tire for the kind of vehicle it is. I’ve got 16k miles on them and they have a lot of thread left, still look practically new. I don’t notice any freeway or road noise.
I also have GOOD tires (Nokian Norseman studless ) and chains I can put on(Thule Easy-fit )
Laughs in Nokian winter tires ????
winter tires are absolutely 100% worth it. my personal recommendations are studded nokian hakkapelita r2s, drove on them without abs or traction control in an icy -40 alberta winter without worry.
I decided to get some Nokian Hakkapeliittas for my 03 wrx when I bought it, and I\u2019ve never once regretted that decision. I have to purposely fight to lose traction in any snow when I want to have fun.
I've been happy with all-weather (different from all-season tires) made by Nordman or Nokian tires. I use Nokain WRG4s. They are great for wet roads and some snow, but can have issues if the snow gets really packed down and slick. I find my tires maintain their thread life fairly well although you'll get less cumulative life out of them compared to switching between summer/winter tires.
I’ve had absolutely zero issues running Toyo ATIIs year round and I know plenty of people who haven’t had issues with Duratracs or KO3s either.
The only complaint i have for it is that the stock toyo tires are not “optimal” for extreme winter weather; they will still get the job done.
Don’t run the Proxes R. My PCA chapter has seen tread delamination issues with this tire on a number of cars at recent events. There’s something wrong with them that Toyo needs to fix.
Once I let a tire place talk me into buying Toyos instead of Michelins. Immediate regret as I drove away as the sidewalls were way too soft.
