Windshield OEM Honda or OEM KIA
Infact last week we got a 2015 oddessy that had non oem glass installed last year (no issues). Now we just replaced tje camera unit and it won't calibrate. We instslled a oem glass and problem solved.
I also have a cracked windshield
My girlfriend is in the same EXACT position as you. <1000miles on 2023 Honda HR-V and a rock hit a similar place as yours leaving a very similar crack as yours. Could be cheap glass, could be a structural integrity issue where the glass is just extra fragile at that area of glass directly above the wipers
My pre-COVID 2019 HR-V took a rock to the windshield and also cracked. The full bill ended up being $1,500 before insurance. Having to re-calibrate the camera apparently adds a chunk of money.
Was driving on the highway and sure enough, a flying pebble from God hits & cracks my windshield. I can't help but feel like Honda really cheapened out on the materials post-Covid
I’ve had my 2022 Telluride for 10 months and have replaced the windshield twice already due to the cracks that quickly turn to very long cracks stretching across my windshield. I’ve never had to replace a windshield in any of my cars prior to this car, and having gone through 3 windshields (including the original) within 10 months has been annoying.
My 2023 Rio had some little chips brand new had them fix em on the spot
I’m already on my second replaced windshield with a crack already in it. Kia glass is weak as shit. 2 weeks ago I barely heard a rock tink off my glass and it cracked ( I was able to get it filled before it spread) but I’ve already got another from earlier this winter.
Same thing happened on my 2023 Soul. Now the issue is waiting for a windshield. The 2022 is slightly different and 2023 windshields just don’t seem to exist. It’s been awhile and safelite can’t seem to get Kia to send one.
I had this happen on a previous Forte I had. A rock hit the black area (where the glass is glued) and the crack went across the whole glass. When rocks hit the black area it will almost always cause this type of damage because that part of the car holds a lot of structural weight for the car (vs say the middle of the glass). The glass safelite used was the actual oem glass so it made little difference.
