Windshield OEM Mazda or OEM Volvo
I once got an after market replacement and hud was blurry and not usable. Insurance finally approved OEM.
My insurance made me go after market and it took 3 windshields before OEM was approved. The HUD was blurry or on a slat. Or both. It gave me a headache. Once the OEM was in it was perfect again.
They ordered Volvo windshields and did my recalibrations. I haven't noticed any issues.
We've owned several Mazdas for the last 10-15 years. We had one windshield crack after being hit by a rock from a passing truck. After years of use, we've had no issues with cracked windshields.
Mines 3 months old and the windscreen has a crack straight through it from a stone getting kicked up on the motorway, the chip in the centre of the crack itself isn't that large or deep.
Yup we got one on our 2023 GT within 3 weeks. Got another one about 5 months later. Seems to be a weak windshield?
I had four stone chips in the last 18 months. Two in the span of just six days last month. The luck of the Irish for my windshield indeed on the CX-5.
1 year in and car has about 2 noticeable chips, one directly in drivers POV and other in corner of passanger with a splatter effect of chips throughout.
Not sure if it’s the sharp angle or design of the windshield/material… however super disappointing.
ABSOLUTELY, I have had my cx5 for two weeks and got hit by two rocks on a road trip, both caused huge cracks in the windshield. I was actually pretty impressed with how fragile the glass is.
My 2019 CX5 had 3 cracks in the first year. Had 7 in total by the time I replaced it last year at Safelite.
