Windshield OEM Toyota or OEM Hyundai
My 2020 Prime windshield broke. Aftermarket glass was used, and my auto wipers didn't work. A Toyota dealer tech determined the bracket for the sensing gel pack was not positioned correctly and said OEM glass was necessary. After getting OEM glass, it now works correctly.
I noticed this summer when I go over bumps, the windshield makes a creaking noise. It's been getting worse and worse. A technician found that basically the bottom 2/3rds of the windshield isn't actually adhered down to the car anymore. It's being held down by the top 1/3 of adhesive and the molding. This is clearly a manufacturing defect since it's the OEM windshield with no cracks or chips.
My venue just took the first ever rock to the windshield ive noticed and it cracked about 5” and was 2ft my the morning. Never had one continue to break that far that fast. Probably shitty quality to keep the prices down on the vehicle
I have been driving since 1997, many different cars and never ever had to replace a windshield. I purchased my 2017 Santa Fe about 2 years ago, and have replaced my windshield twice already.
I once had a 1988 Toyota Pickup that had existed for 32 years with its original windshield, and within six months I caught two separate rocks to it. Very frustrating
After how easy mine cracked , I don't even care if it's OEM so I'm going after market.
I bought the Venue 2023 on Jan 21st. The following Wednesday, driving under a pedestrian bridge (no cars ahead of me) and BOOM, hear a very loud bang and get a big chip plus cracks on the windshield near the very bottom. One crack spread a lot, and this morning I heard the tiniest sound of a rock hitting my windshield and immediately got a 2ft long crack coming off the existing chip (not spreading from another crack). It does sound like I get a lot of wind noise from the windshield itself, plus feels like cold air coming in from the entire front of my car since purchase, which I've never noticed before with my other non-Hyundai vehicles.
Huge crack in the windshield of our '22 Highlander with less than 10,000 miles. No signs of impact or chips. Just a crack originating at the bottom edge and spreading higher day by day.
I purchased a 2020 Toyota Prius Prime. That October the windshield cracked in half. Just weeks after total windshield replacement, the windshield cracked in half again. Now almost a year later...our windshield is once again cracked in half. Multiple claims for this matter seems to point to a flaw with the car. I own two older Toyota Prius cars and have never needed to replace their windshields but this Prime is somethin’ else. The Toyota rep claims nothing is wrong with the car and they won’t help repair. This will Be the 3rd claim in 16 months of owning the car.
