Windshield OEM Volkswagen or OEM Volvo
I had some stuff done, added a couple of things, and washed my 2010 MK6 Golf TDI (manual) with 205K miles. New windshield - OEM VW from Safelite - replaced severely pitted original windshield after 200K+ miles It feels very good driving my clean car with the new bits!
They ordered Volvo windshields and did my recalibrations. I haven't noticed any issues.
18 months in and 57k of highway driving (knock on wood) I haven't had any issues with the windshield. I live in Florida, and have the 2022 Pro S RWD.
Had my Tiguan for 3 years with no issues. Never had anything hit my windshield.
Still getting the runaround on trying to find a replacement. In my experience, the VW's windshields tend to chip & crack so easily. the aftermarket lasts so much longer.
I just had my windshield replaced; I've noticed a slight visual ripple at the base of the windshield on the passenger side. Since it's right at the base it's not something that causes any weirdness while driving. I can't say I even noticed anything with the previous windshield.
cracked the windshield right away must be junk
on windshield #2 after tractor kicked up gravel from side of highway. Was surprised as I never had that experience after driving many cars for decades.
I have gone through THREE windshields since January 2023! I tend to think that it’s the height angle of the windshield
I’ve had to replace 2 windshields, both times from rocks kicking up. I’ve had other vehicles for years and years and never had to replace a windshield. So maybe there’s just a higher percentage of bad luck when you own a Tiguan?
