Windshield OEM Volvo or CARGLASS
I have had two XC90 windshields replaced. Did both at the dealer because of the equipment mounted behind the glass - after replacement they took care of whatever reset codes and calibration were needed.
Went to the dealer got oem glass and it almost looks like factory even the little plastic clip is there. The only thing that's wrong is that they covered the vin with some glue. If they fixed it like they should I'm really happy cause other places might not fit original glass. Already talked with the dealer so I guess there will be no problems fixing that flaw.
I had Safelite replace my windshield, and they ordered me an OEM windshield from my local Volvo dealer where I do my service. They recalibrated the cameras for me as well and I've had no problems. Safelite is perfectly fine for glass replacement.
I've gotten 3 volvo xc90 windshields replaced, all volvo brand at safelite. The 3rd one has been holding up fine.
They ordered Volvo windshields and did my recalibrations. I haven't noticed any issues.
Just had my 2022 xc60 recharge windshield replaced by Safelite (insurance coop). They used oem Volvo glass and did the recalibration at their shop near my home. All went well, and a couple weeks have gone by with lots of rain and no issues.
I have a 2007 V70 with the 2.5 but went FWD when looking at these cause I figured it would be less of a headache than the AWD models. Had mine for about 16 months, bought at 66k, with 71k on it now, no issues.
Earlier today I went under an overpass that was dripping melting snow. A few seconds later, water began streaking down the INSIDE of my windshield. It was entering pretty much dead center of the glass, where the rearview mirror is. It was also entering over on the passenger side (right side, American car). I've looked online and seen that this isn't an uncommon issue with Volvo glass it looks like.
Work was done at Carglass Spaanse Polder. First of all, they couldn't mount the rainsensor. Would do it later... When driving the car home, the most terrible lights went on and off, the car stopped, would not start anymore and had to be towed to the Dealer. The cause of this all was a (earth?) cable that had been cut when removing the windshield.
