Windshield Tesla or OEM Volvo
Remember you can get an OEM windshield from them but this doesn’t mean it will be set perfect since a human is actually installing it instead of a robot. If your windshield didn’t have a logo it wasn’t OEM.
I have a 2007 V70 with the 2.5 but went FWD when looking at these cause I figured it would be less of a headache than the AWD models. Had mine for about 16 months, bought at 66k, with 71k on it now, no issues.
I definitely have numerous chips. I thought maybe it was the aerodynamics of the Model S, but it might be the glass.
The original windshield on my 2018 Model 3 chipped, cracked and.had to be replaced within a year. Never had to do that with other vehicles and I baby this thing.
I would say the chipping in my 2018 Tesla Model 3 windshield is unlike I have seen from my past vehicles, and extensive.
Had our 2018 Model 3 windshield replaced recently. Original windshield was perfect with no distortions. New windshield had significant ripples right in the driver's view.
I feel like the windshield on my S picks up small chips very easily.
My one year old Tesla has about 3 windshield chips, with the first one coming in the first week.
Earlier today I went under an overpass that was dripping melting snow. A few seconds later, water began streaking down the INSIDE of my windshield. It was entering pretty much dead center of the glass, where the rearview mirror is. It was also entering over on the passenger side (right side, American car). I've looked online and seen that this isn't an uncommon issue with Volvo glass it looks like.
