The brake disc was really cool
Reviews of spare parts for BMW
Just put on the alpin 5s for winter. Car is pretty good in 6” of snow or less and the alpin 5s are actually fun to drive in cold dry.
One of those checks will be a minimum thickness on discs and pads. Given you've only done just over 1000 miles in the vehicle since purchase, it would seem to me that the minimum thickness on the discs when the vehicle was sold to you was at or below that required as part of the pre-sale check.
Best things I did for my g80 was 1) Mishimoto skid plate to protect my oil cooler 2)Ceramic brake pads because the red dust that will engulf the lower half of your car after a 1/2 mile drive is insane.
Swapped over the M Sport bumper last night plus an oil change and a cabin filter :) Such a fun car, I love driving this thing.
I ended up buying Liqui Moly on sale recently so that helped.
I have a 2015 f82 I bought 4 years ago with 49k miles. I now have 110k. Standard maintenance but the parts can be expensive. Also learn to do the work yourself. I have the adaptive suspension and just found out new struts are $1000 apiece for the front. That kinda blew my mind.
I've owned my 2013 535i M Sport since 2018 with 44k miles. Other than the regular maintenance items... 2021- oil filter canister gasket replacement -$ 800 ( I think. I can't find the receipt) 2024- passenger valve cover gasket- $660 Driver's door handle replacement -$250 2025- water pump and thermostat- $1750
My new BMW X3 was reliable.
It reliably would NOT start whenever the temperature dropped below -20C, even with a battery tender on it. The dealer couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
