Had an 05 Civic and put 100k miles on it. Used full synthetic + Fram filters every 10k miles. Opened the engine for a timing belt and it was squeaky clean, not even varnished.

I also recently saw one YT channel test Fram and it did really well. It was somewhat restrictive, but it held a lot of dust and did a good job at filtering.

Pros: squeaky clean engine

Cons: somewhat restrictive

6k is ideal.. so yeah 5k-6k. My 23 civic maintenance light came up between 5k-6k and i had like 15 % left on it

Pros: 6k ideal, 15% oil left

I used to do it every 3k cuz I was pro overkill, then 5k, now I just do it when the car tells me to. So around 20% oil life

Pros: 20% oil life, less frequent

ive had my 15 civic SI since march of 15. ive changed it every 5k and never had an issue with it. oil is cheap, engines and major repairs are expensive. id rather waste 50$ on an extra oil change or 2 a year, then need a 5k motor replacement.

Pros: cheap oil, no issues

My old 8th gen, I changed it once the maintenance minder popped to zero. Never sooner. My logic, easy driving, quality oil, I'm well within safe margins. That car was fed mobil 1 most of its life. Valvetrain stayed bright aluminum. OCI's we're near 6800 miles.

Pros: bright aluminum, safe margins

8k miles is just fine. I did that the entire time I've had multiple cars and they have gone a great distance:

I've recently had my 11th Gen sport go in again after experiencing sticky steering. The first time was right around 3k miles, and this most recent time was 13k. While I can express that the problem has been resolved for the most part, it makes me question whether or not it will be covered under warranty after the 30k guarantee. Only time will tell if that's the last time this issue will come again.

Pros: problem resolved for most part

Cons: sticky steering recurred, warranty concerns

Pennzoil is fine, definitely not the best though (my 9th Gen si burned a lot using it) if you can get Mobil 1 or Castrol l I’d go for them instead and use an oem filter.
