Reviews of spare parts for Honda Civic
Use a genuine Honda belt if you decide to replace it, a new auto parts store belt will likely fail before that old Honda belt.
That's a gates timing belt which is a high quality aftermarket belt. It is not OEM and has been replaced. It looks like it was replaced at around 100k miles which is spot on.
175k on my Civic that's first year Civic to have one. Admittedly it was a slight concern when I bought the car. I've really enjoyed the transmission.
Love my Honda civic cvt. So smooth. I make sure and stay on top of changing the transmission fluid. Cheap insurance.
I just switched to Valvoline EP 0w20 after using Mobile 1 all my life, for a very important reason...
...the easy to open top with a built in pour spout. So good.
I recently bought four Nokian Ones for my 2019 Honda Civic EX after reading some really good things about them. I’m now approaching my first year of use and all I can say is that they’re great performing tires. Very little wear showing thus far. Fine traction throughout the year.
5w40 if its drinking oil during vtec, I usually use Mobil but get whatever cheapest
There is a fault with these engines! The belt starts to break up prematurely, clogging up the oil galleries inside the engine! First sign of this starting to happen is your turbo starts to get louder, then siezes. Happened mine just outside of warranty (42k miles). Luckily honda footed the bill and replaced the engine.
My 09 Civic’s starter took a dump (was definitely due) around 2020. Don’t remember why but I got a Duralast starter at AutoZone knowing the pain in the ass risks. After replacing the starter I regretted it given how Honda made it somewhat difficult to replace but not impossible. A little over two years now the starter is now giving me issues with click no turn & me having to give it a tap or two.
