I drove a 2008 Honda Civic for 5 years with only oil changes and no issues, then I moved to a 2013 Honda Civic for 7 years with only oil changes and no issues. Since then I've been in my model 3 with no oil changes and no issues. So not a really big difference for me.
Other vehicles, I ruin normal Mobil 1 until about 80-100K miles and switch to high mileage. Put over 200K on a '04 Civic Si on all Mobil 1 and oil analysis came back great every time.
Try 10w40 after a engine oil flush use liqui moly engine flush. If the 10w40 works fine take it down tk 10w30 then 5w30. I am using 5w30 on a reborn.
My daughter has a 2016 Civic bought new. First oil change was at 200mi with Mobil1 Extended, and then oil/filter changes at 15,000 or 20,000 mile intervals until 86,500. Switched to Restore and Protect and after 1k miles I changed the filter and cut it open, there were zero sludge deposits, and oil color looked new.
I use Mannol. 5l of the stuff in 5w-35 retails at about £20 on eBay which is a damn good price.
I use Rowe as well and it's fantastic. No complains so far
6k is ideal.. so yeah 5k-6k. My 23 civic maintenance light came up between 5k-6k and i had like 15 % left on it
I used to do it every 3k cuz I was pro overkill, then 5k, now I just do it when the car tells me to. So around 20% oil life
Before I boosted mine, I would do 5K all the time. Now it's close to 4k, anything over that and feels like shit driving it.
Pennzoil is fine, definitely not the best though (my 9th Gen si burned a lot using it) if you can get Mobil 1 or Castrol l I’d go for them instead and use an oem filter.
