I had blizzaks that I bought used on Kijiji for my outback I had, the previous person had them for 3 winters, and I also had them for 3 winters and there was still probably another winter left in them if you wanted to chance it, I didn’t have any issues with them, maybe a little rough but they were also on steel wheels
The Vredesteins def looked noticeably bigger (taller) than the Yoko Geoloanders they replaced, but that could just be a worn vs new tire. So far so good other than not looking forward to cleaning them regularly lol.
I have some Nexen Aria AH7 all season tires on my old Subaru Outback wagon. They have been great tires but they are aging out so I need to replace them.
I went from a Toyo Celsius in the stock 225/60/R17 to these bad boys in 225/65/R17. Gained an inch of tire and they really fill the wheel wells now. No rubbing and a very smooth and quiet ride
When I got my 18 Limited, first thing I did was sell the stock tires on Craigslist. I went with the Yokohama Geolander AT tires, this was before there was a Wilderness trim level as those tires are what are on that car. 60,000 miles later they are getting down to a point where this would be the last summer I drive on them. Overall I enjoyed them, very good in the snow, quiet, good in the rain too and here in the PNW we get a fair amount of that.
I am a evangelist for the Cross Climate 2s. Have had on my Outback for 1 year. Performance in Snow is awesome as expected, but did not expect such a massive improvement overall in handling, breaking distance, and traction in rainy conditions. And the first time I drove on a dirt road, it felt like a Rally car. 55mph on dirt feels as grounded as pavement. Also, have spots on my regular route that get pooling on the road during decent rain, and it simply will not hydroplane at 60mph.
I got Cross Climates on my wife’s Outback last year and they are amazing! Road noise went to zero and they handle perfectly!
I live in GA and have had the Defender 2’s on my ‘20 Outback Limited for ~10k miles. They replaced the stock tires from when I bought the car. I have been very happy with the ride so far. It is smooth and quieter than I expected. I am a pretty conservative driver, so I haven’t really “tested” the tires. When I have to stop suddenly or drive in the rain, they handle well, and I can’t remember a time where I felt I didn’t have adequate traction.
They’re meh, I went from having Michelin crossclimates on my 2010 to the OEM tires on my new OB. They do OK in snow, good in rain.
I’m getting rid of my Falken Wildpeaks after 6,000 miles of misery. These tires will not balance and I’ve had rotational noise issues at highways speeds.
