Only issues I’ve had have been starter motor went, did water pump and timing belt when the pump went. Had the injector seal leak so got injectors done. Other than that it’s been a solid car.
Personally I run the ultra heavy (500kg) shocks by Tough Dog, but I would recommend the adjustable mid duty for your application, again a little bit pricey, but you can adjust to your liking.
Can't speak for profender on Jimny but tried it on my Hilux. I got a rebound adjustable with bypass, it was stiff but definitelt made the Hilix handle better.
Add new Ironman shocks.
