I've used ATE for 15 years and never boiled it at autoX.
Reviews of spare parts for Toyota MR2
For my last clutch kit, it was a Southbend stage 1 kit and of course the garbage Exedy disc exploded (typical spring retainers cracked). I simply replaced the disc with an OEM Aisin one directly from the dealership. Part number 31250-20140-84 - $62. So far, this $62 Aisin OEM clutch disc has been putting up with a 2GR-FE for 10k km's and 6 track days. It is likely the clamping force of the Southbend pressure plate that is doing most of the work, but I was not expecting it to have zero issues. It just shows you how the original Aisin spec is overkill already for the car.
I run kyb with tein springs on both of my spyders and they've been great
I just put them in all my shocks! I’m also pretty sure KYBs were OEM albeit a bit different (when I removed the original KYB struts on my aw11 they were silver instead of black) so far the new ones feel great!
Having used both in Street class, I feel like the Bilstein is the answer unless you're a knob turner. They have more compression generally than Koni, but will ride a bit harsher on the street because they're monotube instead of twin tube. The former is typically more performance oriented.
The best option is the Kumho Ecsta PA31. That's what I run in the cool months.
Go for the Vitour P1. Just out a set on my MR2 this weekend. Wow so much grip
I have Advan V701s on my mr2 and for a 300 treadware they've got a ton of dry grip but they definitely struggle in the wet
Cheapest shocks are gonna be KYB shocks, they are alright
The pattern part replacements from the likes of Febest are even worse.
