So the tires are beyond a success, better than I hoped. Twice I've taken the spot I referred to in another post (about the stock Kynergy's) where I turn right at a Stop and go up a slight grade and with any foot on the gas the car breaks away. In these tires, has not happened, even when I have tried to push it. And that AWD sensation continues to be active. I felt it twice this morning: I make a turn, the front end responds, and then the back just snap! (s) right into line. The car is so much more solid through turns than it was, and I would say it is in no way inferior to my old Juke!
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen Beetle
Aisin O9G Tiptronic / TF-60 is the good 6SP Auto trans that came in the New Beetles and pretty much bullet proof.
Success! Staggered with Yokohama Advan Sport A/S on the front, Achilles ATR Sport on the back. Fr: 245/45R18 Rr: 275/40R18 Looks great, no fitment/backspace issues, runs great. Can definitely feel a much tighter back end on turns. On some new black top on 422, did some hard insane lane changes at 75 mph and the back end just snapped into place. Funny how theory actually works out. And, of course, the Yokohama's provide much more glue than the Hankook Kynergys. Feels noticably more solid on the road.
I'm going with 245/45R18s in the front, and 275/40R18s in the back (a poor man's AWD hack). The 245s are going to be Yokohama Advan Sport A/S . I found multiple solid reviews, and the AS[SUP]2[/SUP] (s) are supposedly comparable to the holy PilotSports. Great traction, with sidewall technology for quieting. In theory, these should feel like glue compared to the Kinergy GTs.
I always get the oem brand because that works the best for your car. I get NKGs for my vw beetle
I used a Gates timing belt and some other parts from an ECC kit (new water pump, tensioner, etc.) The timing belt looks tight and normal still
Just for grins, I plugged the CTEK in overnight and by the next morning, it fired right up.
My 2017 Beetle S came with the tires specified immediately below...Hankook Kinergy GT...Originally, tire wear appeared to be proceeding well...After the 16,000 mile service...I noticed the centers of two tires...to have lost the siping – classic over-inflation indicator...Recently at 19,000 miles I noted the front tires...had lost the center siping – again signifying over-inflation...I am not particularly surprised at the center wear as I think a load index of 95 is fairly high for this vehicle...I cannot imagine 60,000 miles for these tires.
Wiper Blade Stuff I ended up buying blades for $50 a pair...and by the way never use Rain-X or similar type products on your windshield, it makes your wiper blades clatter
Yes I too have experienced the windshield cracking right down the center from the top behind the rearview mirror. The dealer told me that it must have been a rock but there was definitely no point of impact and it cracked while parked in a parking lot at work.
