I disagree. I live in Alberta where they pile the stones onto the roadways for 6 months of the year(For traction on ice/snow) and I've never had a tougher windshield. Thing has been nailed dozens of times over the past year and have yet to leave a chip/crack. And for the record I've never had a windsheild last longer than 2 months here. (The passat is my 5th vehicle in Alberta) I broke my subaru Windshield the day I bought it! Its ridiculous.....Glass insurance for a year costs more then the windshield
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen Passat
Had a noise when idling my 2005 passat 2.0 diesel auto. When I turned the wheel at idle the belt would chirp and jump( at the pwr steering pump). Found out I had a defective Schrage(sp?) pulley/clutch on my Bosch 120 amp alternator.
I have a Passat with Pilkington, which also has the sound deadener, and I have no distortions
Yeah, I think you can't beat the Continental Extreme Contact DWS in cold weather and heavy rain for the price, and they also last long, don't get hard or noisy, and hold up well also when it is 120F outside. I started on the third set in my Passat, very satisfied.
I went to City VW(local dealership) got new oil pump and had it done. I put 10W30 Mobil. I drove so far only 500 miles and this first oil change I'm going to do with 1000 miles, and from this every 3.000. The thing is that if I had changed only the Oil Pump Pipe, the problem was solved. It was stacked of dirty oil. As the oil pump was out, I though that put already a new oil pump would be more safe.
For good measure, throw in a bottle of Chevron Techron, Redline SI-1, Gumout Regane, etc for additional cleaning power (from polyether amine)
Mobil 1 0W-40, never lost a drop of oil with 72,000 miles APR Stage 2
All done! Timing belt, TB tensioner, idler, water pump and expansion tank are changed and coolant flushed. I forgot to do thermostat, but it was not necessity but rather preventive.
It's ezier to do AWD if the tranny is pointed towards the rear wheels than if its set crosswise in the car...so the "pro" is EZ AWD..the con...its a betch to work on the nose of the engine (timing belt, waterpump etc are much more labor intense than on a transverse VW).
They came form Fram G3746 fuel filter, and are useless parts for b3 passat fuel filter application.
