Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen Polo
I've just changed the timing chain on my Polo and one reason is the different torque.
Got a suggestion from one of the local service technicians, to go for SACHS brand clutch kit.
If you are using VW original oil then stick to it and the service interval. 15 years 229,000km later mine is going strong. I did mess up by doing service at 15k km all these years. Sticking to 12k is best. Instead try iftex system D. Makes a very noticeable difference. More important I feel is changing the air filter more often. And compulsorily changing diesel filter every year.
I had to change the brake pads on couple of cars last week which used the FSIII brake calipers and all of the brake pads were missing the raised edge and they have been flat. In one case the customer wanted cheaper Febi pads so I thought it was just because of cost savings but to my surprise even TRW/ATE (OEM makers) pads have been like this.
If changing oil at 15k kms interval has served you well for 2 lakh kilometers, then I'd recommend sticking to it instead of switching to an oil with long service life. 30k kms oil change interval claim is a big stretch. I've used LiquiMoly 5w-40 with my Polo 1.2L TDI. Drove it close to or may be more than 20k kms over the course of 3 years until the check engine light came on. Immediately changed to OEM engine oil and for some reason the check engine light went away. Except with LiquiMoly, I've always changed engine oil at 15k kms or 1 year whichever was earlier. This is what my car's manufacturer recommends and I'll follow it even if I use LiquiMoly again.
Checked out in Amazon for G12EVO coolant and found - Bosch Tropical Coolant | 1:3 Red : Seems ok based on ratings and reviews, but again, 'G12' is not mentioned hence unsure. \[Rs. 268 for just 1L\]
At some point VW had a problem with the injectors. They always replaced the faulty one. A short while later the same car was back in the tow truck. The next injector was replaced. A coworker had his car repaired three times for the same problem.
Our 2017 Polo, 85km, had a water pump replaced by dealer a couple of years ago.
$1600. Had a heart attack.
