The shocks and fuel filters are often neglected in maintenance, but do make a difference if they have a lot of miles on them.
The cp4 pumps are notorious for going out pull the fuel filter look for metal.
Yes you need to change the fuel filters every 15k or so at the tune of $55 bucks if you DIY and sure they will be more expensive to repair, but with routine maintenance on my 6.7 I’ve owned since 2018 I have not had a single issue with it.
I have a 1995, f150 and the fuel filter is 7 dollars so I dont know where you guys are or what kind of trucks you have but here in Ontario where I live at my parts store like I said 7 dollars
Replaced the fuel filter and BAM the acceleration is there. It absolutely roars when I go pedal to the floor now, at lest out of the rear tank that I put 91 octane pure gas into.
I used to make it and run it in my 7.3l powerstroke trucks for almost 10 years. I changed the fuel filter in my 7.3 trucks every second oil change, so every 10,000 kilometres. Little puff of smoke on startup, slight haze when stomping on it, otherwise not noticeable compared to regular diesel.
