When my power steering went out i chose a remanufactured steering rack for my 2015 fusion se 2.0 it was 1100 and the labor and tax brought it up to 1800ish. This is in New Jersey.
Mostly a steering rack issue.
New (used) steering rack from 2004 GT and new steering shaft. Much better feel.
It will be interesting to see if they perfect it. I’m already annoyed that they improved it from 2023 a lot at least the Badlands trim I have. No more capable bumper that’s useless for high/lux package. Upgraded the steering rack and doesn’t have shocks with reservoirs that might rot off. The dash is also not an ugly piece of plastic anymore.
My 2010 fusion with 76k lost its power steering assist & came up with an advance trac code. Now I need a new rack. Talk about pissed at ford!
