i had a k&n on my car, immediately i noticed how much lighter and cheaper feeling it was compared to the previous bosch filter i had, also noticed it had a round gasket opposed to the flat one found on most oil filters, but despite this i ran it anyways, a month goes by and i notice my car is starting to leave puddles of oil everywhere, i put it in the shop and lift it up and sure enough the oil is leaking right from the shitty gasket on the k&n filter, replaced it with a bosch and haven’t had an issue

My ‘11 CR-V AWD is sitting pretty at 285,000 miles and I’ve been using a combination of Valvoline MaxLife Engine Oil High Mileage Full Synthetic and K&N High Performance Oil Filter for the last 100k miles.
Valvoline High Mileage w/ K&N Gold filter, I've had no problems, and it runs smooth
The K&N for my car was literally half as thick as the oe, and for that reason alone I swapped back. Yes it was the right one. Personally I’d rather just swap the filter than clean and re oil one that is probably doing a worse job
second oil change i used 0w-30 with a KN oil filter and it felt like it had more torque off the line. It could just be a placebo effect but that's what I feel.
Also, use the best filter you can afford and that means K&N (I hate that VW Mann 3D world junk).
As good as their airfilters are... their oil filters are as shite. They leak and are downright dangerous.
What I usually order with K&n performance oil filter.
I've used AMSOIL Signature in my recent change in my 3.8 with a K&N Filter. I gotta say it's pretty damn good. Engine cranks right up and feels so much more smoother.
The filter I was running was a K&N. I removed the old filter and it had totally collapsed. The oil light would come on at every stop in the first 10-15 minutes of driving. Especially in cold weather. After changing the old K&N filter that was in horrible condition, I have had no issues whatsoever.
