I had my 2000 323CI original LUK LF 20 replaced with LUK LF 30 model. The difference was quite noticeable.

Pros: noticeable difference

Part number: LF 30

Luk Clutch kit

I’d recommend going with a reputable brand like LUK. If it’s a street car without any power adding modifications, just get a stock style organic clutch kit, like the Valeo kit from rock auto or FCP.

Pros: reputable brand, stock style

i did the LUK clutch kit and fly wheel, ppl on acurazine recommend to not use the throw out bearing from the kit and to get the OEM one, also oem rear main seal. that’s what i ended up doing and clutch is great 8k miles so far so good knock on wood.

Pros: great performance, good reliability
Mileage: 8000 km

Luk Clutch kit

Throwout bearing on my 2000 TJ blew at 195k, but there was probably 50-80k left on the clutch plate. My last XJ was over 240k and had zero issues (different transmission but I believe the plates were similar).

You don't mention the year of your Wrangler, but my full LuK clutch kit was $135, got a cheap transmission jack from Harbor Freight for $80, had to order a new clutch fork clip for $2.50, that was it.

Vehicle: Jeep Wrangler
Mileage: 195000 km

Luk Clutch kit

Last month, I replaced the clutch kit and DMF on my 1999 PD115 Passat with a LuK kit, and it was also slipping in 4th and 5th when I floored it (stock tune). After about a week of casual driving, it bedded in, and I had no problems since.

Pros: no problems after break-in
Cons: slipping initially
Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat

Luk Flywheel

I bought an OEM Luk flywheel ($500) and OEM Luk clutch ($250) from eBay. And bolts, bushings, and other required bits for like $150. I brought it to my local Euro shop and they did everything for around ~$700, and that included changing the center support bearing, guibo, transmission mounts, shifter bushings, etc. This was on an E92 but I can't imagine an F30 being much different. Also yeah, you should change out the flywheel. Those generally fail before the clutch even does.

Pros: OEM quality, good value
Vehicle: BMW

Luk Clutch kit

The clutch kit, buy the luk kit pn 07233 on rock auto. It's $500 and change with shipping. Plan a couple of days on the weekend to r&r the transmission.

Pros: affordable price, available
Vehicle: Ford Focus
Part number: 07233

Luk Clutch kit

I've been buying the kits on eBay (munirater brand) and they say LUK on them, I'm guessing maybe someone is remanufacturing them, I can't imagine that they're selling LUK kits on eBay for $380. Or they are knockoff or counterfeit? They work fine.

Pros: work fine
Cons: potential knockoff

Luk Flywheel
SimDesign
Rating 3.0
  • Shift smoothness:

I recently replaced the flywheel and clutch in my '09 135i with an exedy kit which ended up just being repackaged Luk components. The old one was also a Luk and identical to the new one. I think most "aftermarket" kits just repackage the Luk flywheels or machine their own single mass ones. Only had it for a month, so can't judge longevity.

Pros: identical to OEM
Cons: longevity unknown
Vehicle: BMW
