I got some NGK DCPR8EIX's and gapped them to .022" and took them for a drive and they were fine. Then this morning on the way to work I did a 2-3 gear pull and got some misfires after my 2-3 shift.
im still running the NGK BKR7E's at a .026 gap with 11 psi, they do foul quickly but I plan to keep changing them every oil change.
yeah ive ran them.... i guess there ok but they foul faster then the iridiums...
i run DCPR9EIX.. boost is at 24psi when i race.. ive only changed them out after my first 25 or so passes.. have another 25 on my current ones.. no issues yet
After a few hours o cleaning and taking things apart, I came across the following: All in all, 3 weeks after getting everything cleaned up and the plugs, air filter, and oil changed, the car is back to making 34mph on the highway at 80, and before it was 27mpg at best.
Don't bother with platinums. Just change out BKR6e plugs every 3-6k and you'll be good. They are dirt cheap and run the best.
Also, the best plugs for the car are NGK BKR7E's gapped at .032\" for unchipped and .028\" for chipped. They don't last as long since they're copper but at $2.39 a plug it's easy to afford to change them every other oil change. May not last the longest but they definitely run the best.
So I went with the ever popular BKR7E plugs gapped at .028\". I bought a spark plug gapper and verified the gap which is a good thing because the BKR7E's come pre-gapped at .033\".
i like the way it runs str8 out of the box b/c ngk says not to gap them
