I have used Powerstop Calipers Brake kits in two trucks. A Chevy 1500 High Country and Honda Ridgeline. I agree with you on detail esthetics but, these are great performance quality and the brake dust residual is so much better. Also they do follow through on their rebate offers. I touched my calipers up with paint.

I've put either the z23 evolution or the z26 street warrior on many vehicles. Awesome improvement in stopping power across the board.
Powerstop on my Durango RT. Never an issue and been great for years.
I had Powerstop drilled and slotted on my Camaro for 70k miles, currently have them on my Silverado no issues
Power stop is great. I use their drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads on many vehicles.
i dont have experience with a ton of brands for shoes, but ive been using power stop everything for the last 5 years and have had zero complaints on my own vehicles or peoples vehicles ive done on the side. i have their shoes on my cherokee and havent noticed anything out of the ordinairy so far. it seems like their qc hasnt slipped since covid like a bunch of others have either, ive never gotten a cracked rotor or missing hardware or anything from them while i have had those issues with others.
I've ended up with Power Stop on 3 Fords (Fusion, Escape, and Focus) and an Infiniti (Q50 3.0t AWD) and have been happy. Plus it's easy to just buy one kit and everything shows up together. I tend not to use their grease (I have a big tube of sil-glyde in the toolbox) and their retention springs for the rear calipers on the Escape didn't fit (this is not uncommon with other brands I've had on it as well). I've also had very good results with AKebono and used to swear by Wagner ThermoQuiet pads until I had trouble getting them a couple years ago and got the Power Stop parts.
Have the powerstop z36 on my gen 1. Next to non brake dust compared to the oem pads/rotors
I know it's late for my response, here is my reviews on Powerstop brakes they are okay they do the trick had them on my G37 for three years then I replaced them with Stillen cause they offered slotted brakes.
I do not think the calipers are anything special. Just powder coated. I had issues with them (seizing) and replaced with refurbed oem Chrysler. Running the powerstop rotors with EBC Green pads. I would just upgrade pads instead of rotors and calipers If could do it over again.
