I have never had a problem with the green stuff. I added it a year ago (about half G12/ half green stuff) and ran like that for months with no issues. I then changed the turbo and flushed the system and found no strange foams/gels or anything like that. I have since run nothing but the green stuff with no issues.

I have mixed the yellow prestone shown above with g12 when I was in a pinch like you are. I never had any problems for almost 6 months until i flushed and refilled with good fresh g12 So you should be fine...
im running prestone premixed....i just mixed it with the leftover g12 and havent had any problems. thousands of miles have been put on my car.
I have used some prestone that says its safe for anytjing with no ill effects.
My dad used the green prestone brand stuff on all his cars, never had a problem with it. That's what I use in my TD, it does the job well and it's cheap.
When I did my MKIII flush I ran 9 gallons of distilled water through the system first to ensure there wasn't any mixing of coolants. I was also using a professional radiator flushing machine. I then used Prestone Extended Life Coolant. I never had a cooling related issue in the 5 years I owned that car.
There is no problem using Prestone. They have a 50/50 mix with demineralized water that is good with ANY car-domestic or foreign. I used a cup of the Prestone 50/50 mix over two weeks ago and everything is just fine.
i use prestone dex cool. (for the coolant) it says its made for GM cars but i use it and it kicks ass.
I actually did put Prestone long life in my 96 VR6-12 because I didn't know any better and it worked just fine.
The NEWER prestone they sell now works fine. Just flush 1x per year like you should with ANY coolant, it will not eat the aluminum head. If you leave it in there for 15 years, any coolant will eat the head. Flush it 1x per year, no problems.
