Hawk 5.0 street. Very nice stoppers they make.
Owner reviews for brake pads
I did PowerStop drilled & slotted with ceramic pads. Fantastic upgrade. Lasted about 2 years until they got noisy as hell.
They quoted me $8k for standard brakes on my RS5. Bought all the parts myself for $2600 and did it myself ????
I have been running Brembo Pads and rotors. No issues. Perform well for daily driving.
Delphi brakes for rear set usually add another £300 including fitting. Sounds about standard for the area - you'd pay less up north but London's always pricier.
Akebono has had the best blend of low dust low noise and good initial bite. I’ve used hundreds of different pads at my shop over the 14 years it was open and they were consistently the ones that had the least amount of problems.
If you skipped maintenance on an E-Class it would be the exact same story. Bushungs, stabilization links, brake pads, rotors, etc.
Street driving on the 3.12 killed my AP rotors, so I got a set of DS2500 to swap between track and street. I used the 2500s on track and they wear out fast with the heat, but you can definitely occasionally track on them.
Rear brake pads are terrible. Lots of brake dust and already at 4 mm at 8k miles. I rarely brake hard and have never need to replace rear brake pads before 100k on any other car.
Do not go for the CCBs they aren\u2019t any better on the road. Squeak like crazy when wet, and a pair of akebonos and you\u2019ll get minimal dust
