VW Performance Clutch Kit - Sachs Performance KIT-883082001422 VW Performance Clutch Kit - Sachs Performance KIT-883082001422 www.fcpeuro.com Stock-ish feeling, no rattles in the bottom end, will hold all the torque you will be able to generate on a stage 1 car, and likely have the longest life due to material and full faced disc. I will likely be installing one on my car next year some time.

Pros: Stock-ish feeling, no rattles
Part number: KIT-883082001422

The clutch is awesome it's holding my bolt on tuned bk1 2.0t torque perfectly. Drives like stock no chatter that you get with a lightweight flywheel. I got the new slave cylinder/ throw out bearing flywheel and HD clutch kit.

Pros: awesome, holds torque perfectly, drives like stock, no chatter

SPEC Clutch kit

In my 3.8T, I've got a Spec clutch kit. I've had it for a little over half a year now, and still feels good. Customer service is also very good in case you have any hiccups during the install

Pros: still feels good, good customer service

Sachs Clutch kit

I used an OEM equivalent Sachs clutch kit including slave. It’s holding 24psi tunes for it to redline. My slave will leak a little if extended too far, IE pushed to floor. I did not use a spacer and refuse to drop the tranny agin unless absolutely necessary. Daily driving in town and I’ll have to add fluid once a month. This fluid is bleeding by at the slave because I can see it at the weep hole on the bottom of the tranny housing.

Pros: holding 24psi tunes
Cons: slave will leak a little

Exedy Clutch kit

I just did an Exedy 'OEM' type kit from Goodwin with a new Master Cylinder and a new Slave Cylinder and a long Braided clutch line from Master to Slave and I have Zero complaints! Everyone at Goodwin is Top Notch and Exedy stands by their product! I also did a light weight Exedy Flywheel. This was all on a 94 1.8 that I just bought that had the exact same Throwout Bearing grinding that you are talking about! And, once I got in there I found that the Pilot bearing was also seized. I did the rear main since I was in there too lol.

Pros: zero complaints, good product support

OEM Subaru Clutch kit

I've had my clutch kit replaced under warranty once already because of this noise, and the noise is back. After extensive research I truly believe it is not the TOB.

Cons: noise is back

Exedy Clutch kit

So I went with the OEM clutch manufacturer, Exedy. I purchased what I thought would be an upgraded clutch, the EXEDY 10803AHD Clutch Kit. The dealership installed the new clutch without issue and without addition labor charge at that time. That was less than 10k miles ago. The dealer finishes the inspection and informs me that the clutch its self has failed. I called Exedy and talked with a technician. After explaining the situation and providing him the part number for the clutch, he promptly informed me that they no longer recommend that clutch to RX8 owners, only FC RX7 owners. Within the last three months they discovered that the tolerances were off by 1 or 2mm, causing premature failure. The kicker is that I didn't originally buy the wrong clutch. It was one they recommended for the 8 at the time I purchased it. Even though they agree with that statement, they refused to do anything for me with this issue its caused. Absolutely zero. Its just absolutely shocking to me that a well known company like them would operate that way.

Cons: premature failure, tolerance issues, poor customer service
