Mine had that issue. I did the delphi pump. It helped, but I replaced a check valve to maintain fuel pressure. Can't remember the exact part. It completely stopped it.

I went with the Delphi fuel pump from Rock Auto for far less than the Delco branded one, but still a quality pump.

Easier said than done to install the B6 fuel pump into the corrado tank. The pump fits but the top flange's outer edge needs to be ground to fit the locking collar. Then the inside diameter of the locking collar has to be opened up.

I had the same issue with a Delphi fuel pump. New pump in new sealed box with the correct part number on the box but wrong fuel pump inside. I also had the old pump out before I realized they were completely different.
