I searched the web far and wide, and there are zero specs on the RE oil filter---anywhere. So, I went to Walmart and brought the old RE filter with me, and compared it to several different sizes available at the store. I settled on the Mobil 1 M1-107A. The thread shaft width and gasket diameter seem to be an exact match, and it seemed to screw on perfectly. I changed the oil and filter, warmed it up, and took a short ride around town. Nothing leaking so far, engine seems to be performing and sounding right. I'm not sure if it was just my imagination or not, but it seemed to achieve greater speeds this time around while at lower RPMs.

I use Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 with the OEM filter instead of UP because of the SN PLUS certification.
I've been using mobile 1 5w30 with mobile 1 filter.
I think one thing you can do is replace the 10 micron filter with a newer (3?) micron one of it hasn\u2019t been replaced already. His can help the longevity. change out the pentosin oil if it\u2019s nasty.
I typically use Mobil 1, Valvoline, or Pennzoil fully synthetic 5W-30; whatever is on sale. I use a full synthetic and change it every 5000 miles.
Use a good quality oil filter too (not Fram). I typically use Napa Gold, Wix, Mahle, or Mann
currently on Kroon Oil 10w40 non synthetic. Volvo oil filter, 10k km intervals

i had the same issue, when i changed to an OEM oil filter, (not a Fram as the original owner) the problem went away...
I put in Pennzoil Platinum 10w-30 and a Bosch oil filter from autozone. My problem now is that whenever the oil gets up to operating temperature my oil pressure light goes on and stays on under 2400 rpms, anything above that and I'm good.
