Been rocking the 5100’s on my TRD OR, no complaints and going strong after 2 years.
Owner reviews for shock absorbers
I started out with 5100s and they were definitely an improvement over stock both on and offroad. I noticed a huge difference when I upgraded to icon 2.5 coilovers though, which are closer to the 6112s.
I had Koni yellows and loved them. Lifetime warranty too.
I switched out to some medium Old Man Emus on my 2014 Limited after the stock XREAS system started leaking at 120k. Rides great and the slight lift allows me to get onto some steeper trails without worrying about pulling my front bumper off.
I replaced my Limited’s stock suspension with Bilstein 5100’s at 65k myself...the truck rides great on and off road now, literally no downsides.
I have a 2002 Yukon with a leveling kit and Bilstein 5100 all around. The ride is way better like Gorilla said. It feels lighter and takes the bumps very smooth
I've been running Bilstein 4600's on my 04 Titan(Stock Height) for almost two years already.Though its not driven everyday of the week,I drive it casually and the shocks and struts have been holding up well. They're a tad stiff, but overall still comfortable for street and highway driving. And they feel stronger than many other Titans I drove with oem.
I put 5100s on my 2007 Titan back in 2016, and they still ride great.
I used to have a factory set of optional Bilstein TRD Greys in my JZZ30 Toyota Soarer, they were on the firm side of things - could probably have benefited from a different spring rate.
And the adjustable 9000 series are so stiff even on the softest settings. Had them for a while on my E-350 shuttle bus which weighs in just under 10k lbs.
