Get Bilstein 5100 series shocks and call it a day, best ones I’ve used off road and still comfy for on road use
Owner reviews for shock absorbers
I have them on my k2500 suburban and they’re great. It’s much nicer to drive and helped things feel more planted when towing.
Koni yellow. They’re adjustable and can be extremely stiff or nice and soft, and you get to decide what they feel like. They can be dialed up for a track day or put back down to soft for bad roads. I absolutely love them.
I almost went with KYB but got Koni Active instead and holy crap am I glad I did. For WI roads I wouldn’t buy anything else ever again.
I tried both of them, dobinsons shocks stiff you will be shaking in the road, but it was good for offroading for me I changed the dobinson for the profender alot softer and great handling in the road and awesome in offroad. I recommend the profender for sure.
I put KYB OEM equivalent shocks on my old Crown Vic several years ago. The major brands made the car float and bob like a '62 model. I tried KYB because they had a set for my car and a 2-3 year range. Everyone else was 'this fits '75 thru 2002 models. I was very pleased with them.
Can't speak for profender on Jimny but tried it on my Hilux. I got a rebound adjustable with bypass, it was stiff but definitelt made the Hilix handle better.
I put some Gabriels on my beater 2004 and really like them. Got 30k on them and still ride nice.
Koni Yellow + Eibach springs of some rating that I have long forgotten...
B4s are garbage don’t listen. Mine blew in about 2 years.
